"THE FAIRY GARDEN"©1999 (A poem about fairies) Late in the evening, my afternoon stroll. A walk in the gardens is good for one's soul. Upon the welcoming of eventide that banishes the sun's heat, a bustling stir of all life, tis amazing to see. The blossomed scents pull you in with the coolness of breeze. Reaching forth with my hand, just one touch on the gate, opens with such ease. A welcome mat lays out like an artist's palette, a plush life of floral delights and vivid greens. A seduction to one's eyes, such color, a fragile beauty and awe inspiring delights. A broad spectrum of color generously splashed all about. So blended to perfection, overwhelmed, my exhalation is slow to come out. I am overcome with awe and wonderment too. These tiny caretakers, the fairy, are more beautiful than anything I have yet to see, as they take flight on most delicate of wings. The magic they spin, the beauty they create, into a wonderful secret place of their own. Caught up in their dreams like a spider's web, my own world I give up for this special moment in time. A garden most comforting, tended with care, most generous of hearts, is created by the love of fairies. Thank you, thank you, I say from my heart, for the garden you are so willing to share. Closing the gate behind me, a smile dreamily crosses my face. I shall see you on the morrow, my most secretive place.
